Strelasundgate opening
Opening of the bridge between Stralsund and the island Rügen
In the course of a memorable lighting show, forming part of celebrations to mark the opening on the 20th October of the new "Strelagate" bridge linking the German island of Rügen with Stralsund on the mainland, designer Gerd Helinski of HELICON MEDIA employed 20 alpha one FALCON BEAM 3kW and 12 FALCON BEAM 7kW searchlights from service provider A&O Technology.
The show, which was controlled by time code and lasted 16 minutes, was accompanied by music and traced the history of the bridge from its inception and the earliest designs through the 3-year process of construction to the opening ceremony itself. The bridge is over 4 kilometres long with main pylons 128 metres high, so the FALCON BEAM fixtures were the ideal choice to display to best advantage its magnificent architecture. The show was implemented using WYSIWYG technology by A&O Vision.
