Impressive opening celebration for Special Olympics in Warsaw with FALCON searchlights of A&O

In the Legia Stadion in the Polish capital city Warsaw the Special Olympics 2010 took place from September 18th until 23rd, 2010. Officially they are considered as the greatest sporting event 2010 in Poland. As part of the Olympic Summer Games, more than 1.500 athletes from more than 55 nations arrived for competing under the Olympic Flame. 

After inter alia the Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski and Timothy Shriver, Chairman and CEO of the National Olympics International aimed the greetings to the up to 220.000 spectators, athletes and participants, the spectacular opening show began. That followed the mayoress of Warsaw, Hanna Gronkievicz-Waltz, which explained solemnly the European Summer Games for open.
 
By order of the polish company GiG, A&O Technology delivered totally six FALCON 6000 CMY, 14 FALCON BEAM colour 7000W and eight FALCON BEAM colour 3000W. During the opening ceremony the bright xenon floodlights of the manufacturer alpha one were part of the lighting equipment, that set in stage the participants as well as the showact with Simply Red and closing fireworks.

The FALCONs were controlled via GRAND MA Full Size desks. Responsible for the lighting design was Artur Szyman, Light Up. He also used the FALCON xenon searchlights inter alia for events like TOPtrendy Festival in Danzig and Silvester 2009 in Lodz. The technical overall direction (Light/Multimedia) was carried out by the company TRANSCOLOR Lucjan Siwczyk.
