A&O supported U2 at MTV EMAs in Berlin

The Irish music icons U2 performed a spectacular performance at the Brandenburger Tor. It was a tribute to the Fall of the Berlin Wall, which celebrated its 20th jubilee. The show was a part of the MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 in Berlin on November 5th.15 years before the first EMAs took place at Berlin.

By order of PROCON Multimedia AG, A&O Technology delivered a total of 28 FALCON xenon searchlights of the manufacturer alpha one. 24 FALCON BEAM 7kW and four FALCON BEAM 3kW set in stage the show lighting additionally with impressive xenon lighting effects. Lighting designer Gurdip Mahal was responsible for the lighting design of the free historical music event of the celebrated rock band.

The gratuitous 30minutes lasting open-air concert took place in front of about 10.000 fans. The concert also was beamed into the awards ceremony of the MTV EMAs in the O2 Arena. Later this evening U2 was awarded as “Best Liveband”.
