Falcon fixed installation of AO Lighting crowns the centrepiece of EXPO 2017 in Astana

The spherical „Nur Alem“ pavilion (representing Kazakhstan) is the centrepiece of EXPO 2017. Thought to be the largest spherical building in the world, the new pavilion is the newest landmark of the Kazakh capital, Astana. The dramatic illumination of the architecturally impressive, 100-metre-high pavilion is effected using powerful FALCON STATIC ARC colour 7000W searchlights.

The aim of the lighting installation is to ensure that „Nur Alem“ is visible from all parts of the city. For this purpose, sixteen customized FALCON searchlights were installed on the roof of the glass and steel structure.

The FALCON searchlights were chosen to ensure that the specific request of the customer for an extremely tightly focussed sheaf of light was met.

Highlights: The radiant „Nur Alem“ pavilion, centrepiece of Expo 2017. The beams of light are visible from everywhere in the city.

The organizers of this year‘s world exhibition estimate that 5 million visitors will see the spectacular 112,000-watt lighting installation.

EXPO 2017 with its theme of „Future Energy“ runs until 1 September 2017.
